    May Tea Tastings

Come in Fridays at 3 PM to explore new teas!

7th: Rock Oolongs – Lao Cong Shui Xian, or Old Bush, is a smooth sweet tea with a slippery feeling similar to a good puer. It has an aroma reminiscent of dried dates, and is one of Jennifer’s favorite every day teas. Premium Meizhan has a rich lingering flavor and a roasted chestnut aroma, and is one of our most popular every day teas.

14th: NEW Puers – Date Fragrance Puer is new to us, and we are greatly looking forward to sampling it with you. The maocha used to make this tea consists of large shiny leaves that produce a red tea liquor with none of the heavy earthiness associated with puer. Lao Shu Chen Xiang, or Old Tree Home Store, is a tea that tastes aged even when it’s young; it has a sweet taste and a slippery feel down the back of your throat.

21st: Ancient Teas – Today we’ll be sampling teas with long histories. Lapsang Bohea is the world’s first black tea, and has both the sweet and the smokey notes that black teas are famous for. Da Hong Pao is one of the four ancient Rock Oolongs, and is arguably one of the best teas in the world. Come learn about the folklore behind these two complex teas and see why their flavors continue to be popular today.

28th: INFORMAL SAMPLES – There will not be a formal tea tasting today, but if you drop by at the normal time Andy will be on hand to share some samples and chat with you about tea.
