June Speaker Series: Calligraphy Workshop With Harrison Tu

This month Seven Cups has the distinct honor of welcoming Harrison Xinshi Tu, a renowned Chinese calligrapher whose work we are proud to have displayed at the teahouse.  Mr. Tu will be hosting a calligraphy workshop on Wednesday, June 24th at 7 p.m., where he will be discussing the various styles of calligraphy and showing us the basics of calligraphy.  Ink and paper will be provided.  All you have to bring is your artistic spirit and a willingness to try something new.

Because of the materials included, there is a $10 charge for this event.  Reservations can be made at the teahouse.  Seating is limited and we expect this event to sell out, so please reserve early.

Mr. Tu has become a devoted proponent of cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the East and the West.  Since 1994, he has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese American Post, a Chinese-language newspaper available to the entire Rocky Mountain region.  He has taught Chinese calligraphy and painting at Naropa University for the past twelve years, and has received a number of awards over the years.

Below are a few of Harrison’s pieces hanging at the teahouse.
